Think of this as a Press Release . . .

Think of this as a press release . . .

I’ve always thought “bloggers” were a little vain. There is a certain conceit in the self-published thought. Yet it’s tough to get heard these days.

Local television is local television. The newspaper used to provide a longer form, but the Journal and Courier has shrunk. Literally and figuratively. It’s senior staff and its young reporters are all on their way to some other place in the Gannett system. They have no memory. (Mark Benjamin and the 1998 over-occupancy lawsuit and lengthy appeal never happened, cost nothing, set no precedents.) They seek no context. (Our new police chief, Jason Dombkowski was apparently never involved in the Dennis campaign. Such a politicization of a professional position has, therefore, not happened in West Lafayette.)

I suppose I could litter your in-box. Litter your mailbox. But instead, perhaps a blog. If you are one of the 694 people who voted in District #2 (out of a population of about 5000) you may want to know what I think or what I’m doing or what I think I’m doing as your District #2 councilman. Hopefully this blog will provide a way to do that.

Ah-h-h. Your blog is a wonderful thing.
I'm looking forward to the wit of it all.
